Have you ever wanted to taste a Summer sunset? Now you can,
with the
limited-edition Summer Sunset Menu
from the Sun
Dial Restaurant, Bar & View. Having captured and plated the vibrant
colors, rich aromas and warm ambience of a Summer evening, Executive Chef Christian
Messier's latest offering pair perfectly with the Sun Dial's twilight-drenched skyline.
The Summer Sunset
Menu is a three-course, prix-fixe offering for $35 per person, and has an
optional $20 wine flight. It's offered Monday through Thursday, from 6-7 p.m. exclusively.
Reservations are required and be sure to mention the Summer special.
Now for the juicy bits:
This three-course, prix-fixe menu features Chef Messeir's signature tweaks on
your favorite flavors. To tease the palate, choose from a Vidalia Onion Bisque -
a slightly sweet, rich and creamy soup with a savory kick; a Watermelon Salad -
Chef's tantalizing watermelon, feta and lime chili vinaigrette take on
traditional a caprese salad; or the top-selling Peach and Blue Cheese salad with
spiced pecans, baby greens and truffle vinaigrette. Your choice for this course
is paired with a delightfully full-bodied, slightly tart and crisp-finishing Pinot
Grigio.
Next, choose one of three entrée options to tantalize your
taste buds. For a tasty twist on the quintessential Summer staple - steak - try
the oh so tender and juicy Flatiron Wellington. Perched atop a sweet pea potato
mash and topped with mushroom duxelles and a cabernet sauce, this delicious
beef dish is a must-try. Another, lighter, option is the Spice Rubbed Arctic
Char - the silky, succulent fish is crisped with a smoky, slightly spicy rub,
plated with a tangy peach and fennel salad, accompanied by a corn and potato griddle
cake. Option three is the Roasted Spring Chicken, plated atop a citrus risotto
with haricot verts (French green beans) and an arugula pesto - deliciously
simple. Your entrée choice is paired with a vibrant, full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon
that's spicy with a smooth finish.
For dessert, my favorite sweetly sinful treat: homemade cheese
cake topped with fresh strawberries and a balsamic glaze. Creamy, tart and oh
so sweet, the final course is paired
with a decadent Moscato, filled with the fruity, tropical notes of coastal Australia.
As I tweeted
last week, when the last bit of red lipstick is wiped clean away, you know
dinner was phenomenal!
