Fun Fall Date Ideas (No TVs Allowed!)

Since tomorrow is the official start of Fall, why not celebrate with a fun date? Easily my favorite time of the year, I have a few great ideas which make the most of the fledging season. For tonight, there are no TVs allowed!

First up is an all-time favorite:
Gwinnett County Fair
Sept. 16-26
Tickets: $5 adults

Always filled with the sights, sounds and scents of Fall, the County Fair is great alternative for a romantic outing that's easy on the wallet. Enjoy the crisp air as you stroll through a scene cut from childhood memory. Fun rides, silly characters, and the cheesy, greasy goodness of Fair fare awaits!

Next, unleash your inner dinner diva with a trip to one of Atlanta's fantastic farmers' markets. Spend (admittedly, the wee hours of) the morning picking out fresh ingredients for your favorite dish - or one you'd both love to try - then whip up something special that evening. Be sure to check out:
Piedmont Park Green Market

Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
Piedmont Park at the 12th Street gate

Your Dekalb Farmers' Market
Daily, 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Just off the Decatur MARTA station
3000 E. Ponce De Leon Avenue
Decatur, GA 30030

Dunwoody Green Market
Wednesdays 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
1551 Dunwoody Village Parkway
Dunwoody, GA 30338

Since football is the official indicator of Fall, why not cheer one side of this epic, 21-year strong battle? This year, Florida A&M and Tennessee State battle it out at the:
Bank of America Atlanta Football Classic

Sept. 25, kickoff at 3:30 p.m.
Georgia Dome
Tickets: $10- $40

Lastly, keep an eye out for this weekend's big events:
Midtown Festival for the Arts

Sept. 25-26
Right outside the Midtown MARTA station
Peachtree Street between 5th & 10th Streets

Sure to be a legendary event, the MFotA is shutting down Peachtree Street for the weekend block party that can't be missed! Enjoy cooking exhibitions, street performers and film screenings. Oh, and there's also rumors of an Acoustic Café and Beer Garden.

Inman Park Restaurant Week
Sept. 20-26
Various Inman Park restaurants
Prix-fixe menus for $15, $25 and $35

Featuring 13 of Inman Park's most mouth-watering restaurants, the IPRW is an annual  fundraiser which benefits Atlanta's Table, a project of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. This week, come savor the succulent history of the neighborhood while waiting for your delicious dish!
