Set in the midst of a microscopic ecosystem, OVO
features a carnival of critters and colors. With a fanfare from the band, the
plot unfolds into two intertwining storylines. The first follows the budding
love between a gangly jitterbug and luscious ladybug, evoking the sweet charm
of innocent infatuation. The second follows the journey of the mysterious,
namesake Egg as it's bounced and dragged about by the quizzical insects.
Try as I might, there simply aren't enough words to describe the
experience of OVO. Two days later, I remain astounded by
the sheer audacity of that many bodies simultaneously defying gravity and
perceived reality! By carefully dispersing scent, this Cirque show engages each
of the five senses, enticing the audience from the very first scene. Truly, OVO
is November's can't-miss show.
