Passione Italiana: Design of the Italian Motorcycle
March 20 - June 13
Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA)
The 11
bikes are presented courtesy of Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum. This
stunning collection includes the finest creations from MV Agusta, Ducati,
Bimota and Moto - Morini. Curated by Joe Remling of ai3, Inc., Passione
Italiana artfully examines the Italian mindset of "la bella
figura", or the creation of a beautiful image. On March 31, Remling will be
onsite to provide guided tours of the entire exhibit.
In
celebration of its 18th anniversary, MODA has moved to a stunning
space just off Peachtree Street. Now found in the heart of the arts, the Museum of Design Atlanta offers nearly 6,000 square feet of sunlit exhibition space, providing an exploration of style and substance, and adding an innovative,
urban angle to Midtown's Peachtree Corridor. With the relocation and their
intriguing list of upcoming exhibits, MODA hopes to become "everybody's
museum", a place where all can explore their creativity. Upcoming exhibits
include Water Dream - an exploration of bathroom architecture - and a 25-year
retrospective of AIDS posters.
