I'm 0 for 3 on boosting my fitness and social levels with the recent plethora of 5k run/walks around the city. The intention has been there though - the East Atlanta Strut last weekend, the DreamMile at Georgia Tech that benefited child development projects and Make-A-Wish Foundation this weekend, and this coming Thursday's Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk. I have prior obligations on Thursdays, which is disappointing as the downtown course and evening start time are both appealing. Supposedly it is quite the event with an expected 25,000 people. I'm not sure downtown streets are ever that populated. So at least, here is your chance to see downtown come alive, or get some mass motivational force in getting some exercise. If you can't make this Thursday's 5k, there is already another scheduled for Saturday, the Atlanta Walk for Animals in Sandy Springs that also features a pet adoption and a one mile walk option for non-runners.
What's your favorite 5K in the city?
