How Young is Too Young for Medieval Times Show?

We are thinking about taking our kids to see Medieval Times at Discover Mills...but rumor has it that the show can be violent with fake fighting scenes and such.  The program also features fancy horseback riding and falconry, but I'd really like to know the best age before we throw down $40 per person!  Does anyone have any scoop?

I would love to hear the answer to this as well.

Katiebell, did you ever get an answer to your question?

    Thanks!

We never heard from anyone, so we went anyway.  This is not an event for children under the age of 10.  The beginning is fairly tame with lots of pretty maidens and horses and such, but it later devolves into hand-to-hand combat (with some pretty nasty weapons).  There is even the suggestion of an execution.  Food is theme park quality, but older kids will love the 'fake fighting' and the parents will love the icy cold beer...bring your wallet, it ain't cheap.

Warning - do not go to this show with children under 12 or so.  We just got home from a show and I was compelled to post this.  The show was ridiculously violent and over the top, with completely unnecessarily violent parts, including asking the crowd twice to shout whether a knight should live or die.  We saw numerous knights fall and crawl in the sand after being stabbed and "die" -- complete with one knight being tied with ropes, told to bend on one knee and beg for mercy, and a masked executioner coming out to get him with a pretend whip.  We were about to get up and leave with our children when it thankfully ended.  We will NEVER go again!!!!!!

Thanks for the post. My son is six and I was that close to paying for tickets. I think I will hold off for now.

I just went to youtube.com and you can watch video clips of the show there and see what really goes on. Just put in a search for medieval times.
