    Where to live in Atlanta???

My wife and I, along with our 2 year old are relocating to Atlanta this Spring, need some advice on where to move to!  We would very much like to be inside 285, either looking from Brookhaven down to Decatur...  I work from home, not worried about commute times etc...  Need to be in a walking friendly area i.e. sidewalks, parks, etc...  Would ideally love to walk to Piedmont Park, but flexible.  Must haves are a 3-4  bedroom, 3 bath house at a minimum, with a basement preferrably...  Any suggestions?  I have been recommended in the past to look at Oakhurst/Kirkwood, Decatur, Morningside, etc.... any others out there or comments on the above? We would like to spend no more than 600k if possible.... Any help would be greatl appreciated!

All of the above suggestions are good choices; however, Grant Park which is where the Atlanta Zoo is located is also a great choice. I would highly suggest visiting this area of town as it is really one of our up and coming submarkets in town. Also Grant Park has homes that would work well for your budget and size of home you are looking to buy and now is definitely the time to do so. Best of luck to you and your family.

All great recommendations above, but Candler Park is teeming with young families and is a very friendly neighorhood overall. Just on my street in a 2 block section, there are 8 households with kids under 5!  Makes for fun porch parties. The playground at Candler Park is very popular, and you can easily walk to family-friendly restaurants in Candler Park. Suggest you explore the neighborhoods mentioned above, which incidentally are all very close to each other.

I am also looking to relocate to Atlanta in June of this year. I am looking at the Jonesboro and Stockbridge areas. Can anyone give me any advice? I have an 11 year old daughter so I am looking at schools as well as family friendly neighborhoods.

    Thanks!

Not sure if you already found something but the area between Little 5 points and Candler park is a great area too, called Edgewood.

We live there with our 2 year old but have to move. We dont have a basement but a guesthouse and a pool.

If you found something already, you would love atlanta.
