I just read about the newly-opened STRAITS Atlanta restaurant in Midtown in the *Atlanta Foodies* blog. The restaurant features Singaporean cuisine, and an upscale atmosphere with "modern Asian" decor. The food was reviewed by the blogger as very delicious, and she talked about many items on the menu. The restaurant was brought to Atlanta by musical artist Ludacris and Chef Chris Yeo, and the blogger mentioned that she met both of them at the restaurant. She also has a few pictures posted, as well as recommendations.

I was wondering if anyone had been to this new restaurant before? Did you like the Singaporean cuisine? Did you catch a glimpse of Ludacris? Is it worth a visit?

I read about this popular Italian restaurant in midtown on Chow Down Atlanta. The reviewer claims that Ecco is their favorite Italian restaurant in Atlanta, and they rave about not only the excellent food, but also the casual and comfortable but classy atmosphere, the service, the consistency and the presentation. They also mention that this restaurant has family-style dining, and an extensive collection of wines. They have sampled lots of items from the menu and gave lots of recommendations for appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, which you can read here.

From the review, this place seems stellar. I would like to try it sometime. Has anyone been to this restaurant? Do you agree that it's one of the best Italian restaurants in Atlanta? Do you have other recommendations for Italian in Midtown?

March of Dimes Dining Out

Atlanta blog In the Loop just updated about a dinner event being held June 13th at 7 p.m. The event is the 24th Annual March of Dimes Dining Out. First, there will be dinner at one of the participating restaurants, and then guests will go to the Atlanta nightclub, "Opera" for dessert and dancing from 9 to 11p.m.

Restaurants participating include Aria, Canoe, JOEL, Trois, Cuerno, and Pricci, among others. All proceeds go towards the March of Dimes mission to save babies.

Go to www.marchofdimes.com/georgia for information or to purchase tickets. Or you can call Jennifer Cobb at 404)350- 9800 extension 208. Tickets for the after party can be purchased individually for $40, but they are also included in the table purchase.

Has anyone heard about this event before? Have you been to club Opera or any of the restaurants mentioned? What do you know about the March of Dimes?

I was checking out the Atlanta Dish blog, and they mentioned a few places to get some high-quality steaks. The places they mentioned were Morton's the Steakhouse and Fogo de Chao.

She mentions that Morton's the Steakhouse has won awards for food, wine and service, and has been well-known internationally for years as an upscale dining experience. Currently, they are also offering a selection of seafood.There are two locations in Atlanta; one in Buckhead and one Downtown. Fogo de Chao is a "Brazilian churrascaria" that offers 15 different, fire-roasted, tableside-carved, cuts of meat as well as a large salad bar. The blogger also mentions that this restaurant has new art work and a new wine cellar after being recently renovated.

My getaway would be a fun weekend hopping around Atlanta's cultural hot zones such as the contemporary museums, park arts festivals while sampling great food from the city's fine dining restaurants and squeezing on a little spa time for my wife and I. Wrap that all up with a great hotel situated intown as base camp, and it could the perfect getaway from excitement to relaxation.

I was reading the *Atlanta Foodies* blog and they had a review of a seafood restaurant called AquaKnox. According to the review, the restaurant had a sexy ambiance and high quality food and service. I visited the website, aquaknox.net, and I think that I would like to try it sometime. It looks like a great place for a special occasion.

Has anyone been to this restaurant? Would you recommend it? How does it compare to other fine seafood restaurants you've been to?

Otis Harden was a pleasure to talk with about what he does in Atlanta. He enjoys sports games, attending North Point Church and he also coaches travel baseball. His favorite area to dine out is in Highlands/ Midtown and the best restaurant is Maggiano's.

Dining at King Plow Arts Center
